About
Melting ice sheets and glaciers in the Arctic are exposing vast landscapes dominated by seemingly barren post-glaciation soils. We are using sensors to monitor soil development in Svalbard.
Team
SUN-SPEARS includes researchers and scientists from the US and the UK. The US organizations include Montana Tech, the University of Colorado Boulder, and the University of Utah. UK institutions include Queen Mary University of London and the British Geological Survey.
Funding
SUN-SPEARS is jointly funded by the National Science Foundation and United Kingdom Research and Innovation.
